Britannia keeps faith with remortgage option

Wed, 01 Nov 2006

Britannia Building Society has announced that it will continue to offer savings of over £800 to customers who find a remortgage with the organisation.

The society's fee-free equity release mortgage option which was introduced in September could save borrowers £829, it claimed.

Mike Sims, marketing manager at Britannia, asserted that the savings which are available are enticing many borrowers.

"The fee-free packages have already been very popular as customers are saving hundreds of pounds off the cost of moving their mortgage," he remarked.

"The offer applies to Britannia's entire remortgage range, so customers can choose the product which best suits their needs."

Britannia's projection of the potential savings is based on a £399 arrangement fee, £100 administration fee, £150 standard valuation and £180 conveyancing fee.

Britannia Building Society offers a wide range of mortgages for borrowers in the UK, including fixed-rate, tracker and offset packages.

The society also provides first-time buyers with advice on finding a mortgage, while an online comparison service allows buyers to search its options to evaluate which package is best for them.
